Shopping
The nearest supermarket is Carrefour Market in the centre of Morzine. There is ample parking, which is free for a short stay shopping trip.
There is a larger Carrefour Drive on the way to neighbouring Saint-Jean D'aulps. This is a typical out of town supermarket with plenty of parking, a much bigger choice of items and well priced petrol station.
In terms of an initial shop for your stay, it is worth considering stopping before heading into the higher mountains. An example would be to stop in the town of Cluses, where there is a large Carrefour and Grand Frais among others. There does tend to be a premium for food purchased in the mountains themselves.
Finally, our local servicing partners - Total Chalet Services - can provide a shopping service direct to the chalet. Please contact them directly to arrange.
Eating & drinking
If you'd rather get someone else to cook, then there are plenty of restaurant choices in the area. You might want to consider a few specifically...
Les Prodains, which is a short walk from the chalet and serves lovely food. Summer visitors may use their outside pool when using the restaurant.
Les Trappeurs is our favourite restaurant in Avoriaz town - perfect for families who are unable to stray far.
Getting around
Airport transfers can be arranged through Total Chalet Services - please contact them directly.
When at the chalet, you can use the free bus services - see here for more details, noting that our chalet is near served by the Line A shuttle. These run every 10/15 minutes through the skiing season and can take you to the Prodains Express cable car (2 mins), into Morzine itself (10 mins) and onto Les Gets (via connecting shuttle).
You are welcome to park in the driveway – please do so with consideration for our neighbours.
Ski lifts
The Prodains Express cable car runs up to Avoriaz all day during the winter season and every hour during the summer. The lift is a 10 minute walk from the chalet, or you can hop on a free resort bus - see above.
To access the lifts you can either pay as you go, or you can use your lift pass (winter) or Multi Pass (summer). Passes can be purchased from any cable car station or online - see here.
Please do pay attention to weather warnings, particularly in summer – it is very easy to get stuck in Avoriaz if a thunderstorm suddenly comes down!
